On the 29th of February, Carlynton held its second annual Fashion Bash. The Fashion Bash had dual purposes- to raise funds for Prom, and to showcase various styles one might choose to wear to prom. It was held from seven to nine in the Shop. The main event was the fashion show, where for a total of about 30 minutes 44 dresses and nine suits were modelled . In addition, some girls modelled hair styles with more casual dresses. This served to advertise Dani's Hair Loft.
Many of the dresses modelled were donated , but seven were rented from David’s Bridal. The suits modelled came from Men’s Warehouse. Jewelry, made by Paparazzi Independent Consultant, nails from Color Street , and flowers from Bella Flora Shoppe were also shown .
The emcees of the evening were Alaiyah Burks, Erin Fox , and Savannah Sevacko . They described the styles of the evening. After the fashion show portion, a silent auction was he ld where attendees could bid on the 37 dresses up for sale. There was also a clearance rack, with all dresses there going for 15 dollars.
In addition, there was a coffee and dessert bar for attendees, as well as a Chinese Auction. After a break, the winners of the auctions were announced , and the event was over.
Anya Corrassco , one of the main coordinators for the event, reported it was a success. “We raised close to 2,000 dollars,” she said “that takes off one-fifth the cost of the venue, and will definitely help lower the price of the tickets.” Anya closed her remark by thanking everyone for their support, and for attending the event. Finally, coordinators announced that prom will be held at Bella Sera restaurant on May 20th.
